Why HVAC tickets should carry the numbers
A tune-up without readings is just a visit. Writing down temperature split, pressures and amp draw gives the next technician a baseline, and gives you evidence the system was healthy when you left.
Equipment details matter just as much. Make, model and serial number let you order the right part the first time and check warranty status without another trip.
Record what you found, then what you left
A before-and-after set of readings shows the customer the difference you made.
Refrigerant records
Track refrigerant type and amounts added. Regulations on refrigerant handling and records vary, so check the rules that apply to your certification and region.
Going digital
The HVAC work order software keeps the job, the customer and the service history together. Put the readings in the job notes.
Tired of re-typing the same details?
Keep these jobs in the free work order app instead. Assign a technician, set a due date and see what's overdue, without printing anything.
Template questions
What should an HVAC service ticket include?
Customer and site, equipment make, model and serial, the complaint, readings, work performed, parts and refrigerant used, labor and customer sign-off.
Does this meet refrigerant record-keeping requirements?
It has a field for refrigerant type, but record-keeping rules differ by region and certification. Treat it as a convenient worksheet and check the requirements that apply to you.
Can I use this for maintenance agreements?
Yes. Tick Maintenance and keep the filled form with the customer's file, or use recurring jobs in the app.
Is there an HVAC work order app?
Yes. See HVAC work order software for the digital version.
