Know where every job stands
Work order tracking software that answers "where are we on that?"
Every work order moves through the same few states: open, in progress, done, or overdue because the date passed. Wrenchlist keeps those states honest and puts the counts on the first screen.

Tracking that survives a busy week
Four states, no ambiguity
A tracker is only useful if everyone reads the status the same way. We kept the list short on purpose.
Open
Created and waiting. It might be assigned, it might not, but nobody has started.
In progress
A technician is on it. Switch a job to this status when someone arrives and the dashboard reflects it immediately.
Overdue
You don't set this one. Any job past its due date that isn't complete turns overdue automatically, so late work can't hide.
Completed
Done and timestamped. Completed jobs count toward the "done this week" number and stay searchable as history.
Filter by what you need to know
From a hundred jobs to the three that matter
The work orders table filters by status, technician and priority, and searches across job number, customer, address and trade. Click the Overdue card on the dashboard and you land on exactly that list.
Ask "what is Dana carrying right now?" or "which urgent jobs have no one assigned?" and get the answer in two clicks, without building a report.

What tracking can't do for you
A tracker shows what people tell it. If a technician finishes a job and nobody marks it complete, the board will say it's still open. The fix is a habit, not a feature: close jobs the moment they're finished, and review the overdue list at the start of each day.
Wrenchlist doesn't use GPS or send automatic customer notifications. It's a clean record of the jobs you enter, which is exactly what most small crews are missing.
Questions people actually ask
How do I track work orders by technician?
Use the technician filter above the table to show one person's jobs, or the Crew workload panel on the Overview to see active jobs per technician.
Does the status change automatically?
Overdue does. If a job isn't complete by its due date it shows as Overdue. Open, In progress and Completed are changed by you.
Can I see the history of a job?
Each job keeps its created and completed times and its notes. A fuller activity log with every change is on the roadmap.
Can customers track their own work order?
Not yet. Customer-facing links would need the cloud version, which isn't live. For now you can print or export a PDF for the customer.
