What to write on a plumbing ticket

Plumbing tickets earn their keep when a customer calls back. If you can say "we replaced the supply line under the kitchen sink on March 4 and tested to 60 psi", the conversation changes from blame to facts.

Always record the shut-off location. It's the first thing the next plumber, or the customer at 2 a.m., will want to know.

Fixture and system

Note the exact fixture (kitchen sink supply, second-floor tub drain) and the system it belongs to. It keeps repeat issues easy to spot.

Tested means documented

Tick the pressure-tested or camera-inspection boxes and write the readings. It's your best defence in a warranty dispute.

From paper to a plumbing job tracker

If you take calls all day, a digital tracker saves re-typing. See the plumbing work order software for the same fields in an app.

Tired of re-typing the same details?

Keep these jobs in the free work order app instead. Assign a technician, set a due date and see what's overdue, without printing anything.

Template questions

What goes on a plumbing work order?

Customer and address, fixture or system, the problem, the work done, parts used, tests performed, labor time and sign-off.

Should I record water pressure?

If you test it, yes. A reading before and after is proof the problem was fixed.

Is the plumbing template free to use commercially?

Yes. Print and use it in your business. Please don't resell the template itself.

Is there plumbing job software to go with it?

Yes. The plumbing work order software has the same job details in a dashboard.
